Parents’ Role

Parents are partners in the learning that CFL explores. They are not mere consumers of a service, nor does the school take a view that the staff have an exclusive understanding of what learning implies. Along with the teachers and students, parents are crucial in creating the ethos of the school.

From the beginning we invite parents to be active participants in the dialogue about the school’s intent and about the challenges that we face in life and relationship. There are meetings every month where parents and teachers explore these issues.

Parents are also invited to participate in the life on campus. Parent volunteers work in the kitchen, hold workshops, help with fund-raising and much more. Each parent contributes one working day a year on campus, helping the school in various areas : pastoral care,  the library or working on the land.
